Partitioning a hard drive is like dividing a hard drive up into several sections. You may use the partitions for reasons such as data storage or as a startup drive.
You can partition a hard drive even if there is data on the drive. You just have to know how to do it correctly to keep your data intact.

I have been told by HP tech support that I need to reinstall Twain Drivers (for scanning) on my Macbook Pro (OS10.6.8). These drivers are located in the HD library under System, library, frameworks, Twain Frameworks. MAC Tech support doesn't even now what Twain software is. I need help trying to find the correct drivers for my system and reinstalling them. HP says if you do not do it correctly it will cause a serious system issue.
